The DecodeX PS Decoder™

Deconstructed Problem Blueprint

Step 1

WHAT TO BUILD?

A comprehensive cloud-based multi-tenant software platform featuring role-based portals for Students, Academicians, Industry Recruiters, and Institutional Administrators.

Step 2

WHO IS IT FOR?

Students seeking skill development and jobs, Academicians looking for faculty training and research collaborations, Industry partners needing skilled talent, and the Ministry of Ayush / All India Institute of Ayurveda overseeing educational alignment.

Step 3

WHY DOES IT EXIST?

Academic institutions often operate in silos with outdated curricula, leaving students unaware of modern industry competencies while industries struggle to find pre-vetted, qualified talent, especially within specialized sectors like Ayurveda and holistic healthcare.

Step 4

INPUT → PROCESS → OUTPUT ARCHITECTURE PIPELINE

01 • Inputs & Telemetry

User registrations, student questionnaire answers, skill assessment test results, resume PDFs, academic certificates, company job/internship listings, and training module metadata.

02 • Processing & AI Core

Rule-based and ML-driven skill gap analysis, cosine similarity matching between student profiles and job descriptions, automated resume parsing, digital credential generation, and analytical aggregation for institutional dashboards.

03 • Actionable Deliverables

Personalized skill gap reports, intelligent career/internship recommendations, verified digital portfolios, recruitment tracking pipelines, and macro-analytics dashboards for policymakers.

Step 5

CONSTRAINTS

  • Must support multi-tenant role-based access control (RBAC) across 4 distinct user types.
  • Data privacy and secure storage for student academic and personal records.
  • Scalable to handle thousands of concurrent student assessments during peak placement seasons.
Step 6

JURY METRICS

  • Accuracy and relevance of the skill-to-job matching recommendation algorithm.
  • System latency during concurrent student assessment submissions (< 2 seconds).
  • UI/UX intuitiveness, accessibility, and smooth role-switching navigation.
Step 7

CORE BOTTLENECK

Designing an accurate and fair multi-dimensional skill-matching engine that evaluates both technical competencies and soft skills without manual overhead.

Why You Should Choose This PS (Pros)

  • High relevance to national skill development missions under the Ministry of Ayush.
  • Clear, modular feature set making it easy to divide and conquer during a 36-hour hackathon sprint.
  • Strong social and economic impact by directly improving graduate employability.

Challenges & Risks to Watch (Cons)

  • The domain overlaps with standard placement portals, so standing out requires unique niche features tailored to Ayush/specialized healthcare.
  • Requires complex state management for multiple distinct user workflows.

BACKGROUND

A significant gap exists between the skills acquired in academic institutions and the competencies expected by industries. Students often struggle to identify the skills required for their desired career paths, while industries face challenges in finding candidates with the right skill sets. Similarly, academicians have limited visibility into industry internship opportunities that could help them gain practical exposure and align teaching with current industry practices. There is a need for a unified platform that connects students, industries, and academicians, enabling seamless collaboration and skill development.

DESCRIPTION

The proposed solution is a centralized Academia–Industry Collaboration Portal that serves as a one-stop platform for students, industries, and academicians.

Key features include:

•Skill Assessment: Students complete a questionnaire to evaluate their technical and soft skills shared by industry. The system generates a skill profile and identifies strengths and skill gaps based on current industry requirements.
•Skill Mapping: Based on the assessment, the platform recommends relevant industries, job roles, and skill development programs aligned with industry requirements.
•Industry Internship & Job Opportunities: Industries can post internships, projects, apprenticeships, and entry-level job openings with required skills. Students receive recommendations based on their skill profiles and can apply directly.
•Industry Learning Programs: Companies can publish training programs, certification courses, workshops, and mentorship initiatives to help students acquire in-demand skills before applying.
•Allow students to search, apply, and track internship and placement opportunities through a single platform.
•Provide a dedicated portal for academicians to explore faculty internships, industrial training, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), consultancy opportunities, and collaborative research projects.
•Facilitate industry–academia collaboration through mentorship programs, workshops, guest lectures, innovation challenges, and live industry projects.
•Enable institutions to monitor student skill development, internship participation, and placement progress through dashboards and analytics.
•Maintain a digital portfolio for students containing verified skills, certifications, projects, internships, and achievements to improve employability.
